Independence
with AssistanceHillhaven encourages residents to be independent—they may have their own vehicle or use public transportation. Also, Hillhaven staff can transport them within the local area for appointments, visits to friends, and other outings. Residents can participate in community and Senior Center activities. Families are welcome to visit, take residents for outings or overnights, or have family gatherings at the facility.
Each resident’s care plan
reflects
their individual needs:
Most residents are private-pay, or county assistance is also available. Long-term care insurance (depending upon the policy) may also cover the fees.
Services and AmenitiesResidents can enjoy outdoor amenities that include a summer fountain, the duck pond, flower gardens, a hammock, benches, and a lower level patio. Fresh herbs and greens are grown and used when available. Birds and other wildlife are frequently seen on the 3.5-acre grounds.
Becky Stoner
owns, operates and holds the license for Hillhaven. She
and her husband, Loren, live on site and are the primary caregivers. Loren is a chiropractor. Becky is a physical therapist who has worked with the elderly in many different settings in Minnesota. She believes in respecting residents as
individuals, pampering
them when possible,
and encouraging their
independence.
